Showing Your Love for The Bay: 2020 Giving Challenge
The Bay Park Conservancy recently participated in the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s annual Giving Challenge for the first time. For this 24-hour virtual fundraiser, The Bay encouraged members of our community to show their love and become a Friend of The Bay, raising funding to support the development of the first 10 acres of the park.
With our strong #IHeartTheBay campaign and through the support of generous donors, volunteer fundraisers and our board members, we are thrilled to announce that of the 687 organizations that participated, The Bay Park Conservancy placed 18th of total dollars raised. We received over $100k in donor gifts and with generous match funding from The Patterson Foundation, our total surpassed $135k! Thank you to the 467 donors who showed their love for this project and realizing the possibilities.
The outpouring of support for all non-profits in our region, especially during these difficult times, is truly evident of our strong, resilient, philanthropic community and we are thrilled to have been a part of this momentous day.
