“Civil Rights: Bridging The Movement”
Sunday, February 25
With music from the 1940s to the 1960s, it’s almost guaranteed you’ll hear something that will get you snapping your fingers or tapping your toes. There are so many different styles to hear and enjoy – Boogie Woogie, Jazz, Rock, R&B, and Pop during this era. Come learn some African American history while treating your eyes, ears and soul to a variety of sounds and songs.
PLEASE BRING YOUR LAWN CHAIRS TO ENSURE A COMFORTABLE SEAT — THIS EVENT WILL BE ON THE LAWNS OF COMMON GROUND
About Jazzlinks
One of several educational programs offered by WBTT, Jazzlinks brings to life some of the experiences of African Americans during specific eras in history (e.g., The Harlem Renaissance and The Civil Rights Movement). It allows us to acknowledge many significant contributions, remember where we’ve been, and educate newer generations so that history is not forgotten.
About Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe
The mission of Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT) is to produce professional theatre that promotes and celebrates African American history and experiences, engages a broad base of patrons and audiences, supports the development of a dynamic group of aspiring artists, and builds self-esteem in youth of color.
