Phase 1: August 14 Update
Construction continues on Phase 1 and there is a lot of activity and progress at The Bay. Watch Bill Waddill’s latest construction update video or read below to learn more.
Dredging The Bay
We’re setting the stage to begin dredging the Mangrove Bayou, allowing us to remove more than three feet of polluted silt that has accumulated in the bayou for decades. In the meantime, the pedestrian bridge will be closed and foot traffic re-routed.
A New Public Access Point
You may have noticed the large, red crane towering over The Bay. Well, that crane is there for a great reason – it marks the addition of The Bay’s new ADA-accessible paddle launch! Starting next week, the crane will be used to lift the launch and drop it into the southern tip of the Mangrove Bayou. In the late fall when the dredging project is complete, the public will have a new way to enjoy The Bay.
