Part of Black History Month at The Bay

Bring your sweetie, your BFF or yourself to The Bay for this special “Valentine’s Eve” Cinema event that will get your heart fluttering and face smiling.

Be part of the exclusive release of “So This Is Love” — a poetry short film about two musicians (Kristen and Michael) brought together through a blind date, leading to an unexpected creative and emotional partnership. As love blossoms, their relationship is tested when Kristen gets her dream job in another state, forcing them to confront the challenges of distance, dreams, and commitment.

Director Adrienne Pitts, Producer Marquis Dawsey and actors Raleigh Mosely II and Jazzmin Carson will be on hand to discuss the film and how it connected to and warmed their hearts.

PLUS talented, area poets will add to the evening by expressing their love through the reading their most beloved pieces of work.All in all, this is a not-to-miss night you are going to LOVE!

Come hungry and thirsty! The Nest Café will be serving delicious food, fresh popcorn and refreshing drinks.

Bring your blankets, chairs, and friends to add even more comfort and fun.

About the Cast & Crew

Creator, Co-Writer, Asst. Director and Producer Marquis Dawsey is the Founder of Black Lemonade Productions. Based out of Florida, they specialize in Documentaries, Music Videos, Film, Editing, Color-grading, and all things production.

Director and Co-Writer Adrienne Pitts wears many hats and wears them well — in her production management company (The Creatives Room), as a professional costumer, and as Wardrobe Manager at Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT).

Actor Jazzmin Carson, a New Orleans native, studied theatre at Alabama State University. Along with her stage work, she has experience in film production and was recently featured in performances with Sarasota’s own Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (WBTT).

Actor Raleigh Mosely II is a versatile performing and recording artist known for his powerful voice and captivating stage presence. A standout with WBTT, his artistry extends beyond the stage to headlining major community events and releasing his own music.
