Celebrate Earth Day at The Bay! (2 Days Early!)
Suncoast Remake Learning Days (11am-1pm)
Engage your senses and curiosity at The Bay through hands-on, family-friendly FREE experiences that showcase the wonder of nature, art, and science. For kids of all ages.
Activities include:
- Art Center Sarasota: Capture the art and wonder in nature that surrounds you at The Bay. Use air dry clay to preserve the imprint of natural objects found throughout the park to create a keepsake of your visit.
- First Thousand Days: Explore fruits and vegetables through fun and interactive tasks that develop kids’ motor skills and vocabulary!
- Ride & Paddle: Row ‘Round the Rookery: Enjoy a family-friendly paddle to explore the restored and revitalized mangroves at The Bay (20-30 minute rides). Children must be accompanied by an adult. Walk up only – no registration available.
- Sarasota Butterfly Club: Discover the various stages of metamorphosis — from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis to butterfly. Witness these winged marvels take flight. Engage in a planting activity that ensures butterflies not only survive but thrive.
- Sidewalk Science: Take part in interactive Earth Day science experiments for kids. Who knows what you’ll discover?
- Southface Sarasota: Discover the energy culprits lurking in our midst! From refrigerators to air conditioners, you’ll learn practical tips on how to minimize environmental impact, reduce energy consumption and live more sustainably.
- Wholehearted Education (Sessions at 11:30-12:00pm and 12:30-1:00pm): Kid-friendly yoga for “Littles & Bigs.” A playful practice using nature-inspired poses, breathing exercises and guided mindfulness techniques that help kids become connected & calm.
City of Sarasota Earth Day Celebration Tabling Event (11am-1pm)
Engage and enjoy interactive experiences focused on making a difference on the environment. Learn about the City’s new tree giveaway program where residents can receive one FREE canopy tree (with proof of residency). Good for the planet. Good for everyone.
