Capture Sarasota’s picture-perfect beauty by learning and enhancing your Plein Air Painting skills at The Bay — a blue and green oasis near the heart of downtown.

By definition, “plein” painting means “painting in the open air.” Under the watchful eye and gentle instruction of one of Art Center Sarasota’s talented artists, explore and capture the many inspiring elements of The Bay — resilient shorelines, stunning coastal views of Sarasota Bay, thriving native trees and plants, as well as architectural structures and historical buildings found throughout the site. For beginners and experienced artists alike. Supplies are provided for FREE for beginners. For those more experienced, feel free to bring your own.

Tips for an Enjoyable Experience:

• Bring your own lawn chair to ensure you have a comfortable seat.
• Bring a reusable water bottle to help keep The Bay green. A water station is available near The Nest Café.
• Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
• Protect yourself from the sun – wear SPF/ UV protection, sunglasses and a hat.

About Featured Artist: Maggie Bosco

Maggie Bosco is a 26 year old artist currently based in Florida and NY. She recently graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) with a Masters of Fine Arts. In 2019 she graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing. Combining her passion for art with her strong interest in business and marketing, she has created her own Live Wedding Painting business. As she works towards her degree, she will continue to use her private studio time to work on larger scale oil paintings of her current surroundings mixed with the memories of the places she has been.
