Take in the delightful sounds of the Sarasota Orchestra Brass Quintet as they kick off this new Signature Artists at The Bay series. (and provide the perfect start to The Bay Turns 1! Anniversary week!)
About the Sarasota Orchestra Brass Quintet
Founded in 1986, the Sarasota Brass Quintet (formerly the Florida Brass Quintet) has established itself as one of Sarasota Orchestra’s best-known ensembles. The Quintet has performed throughout Florida, from the Panhandle to the Keys. The group also performs in and works with students from schools throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Their concerts include a mix of standard quintet literature and pops selections that take the listener on a different musical tour at each concert. From the clarion sounds of the Baroque to contemporary jazz, the Sarasota Brass Quintet offers entertaining programs of great variety.
About Sundays at The Bay
Sundays at The Bay is a free, weekly music and performance program offered from 6-7pm. Come to The Bay to experience a different local artist each week, from jazz, rock, genre fusion and marimbas to guitar and gospel.
Tips for an enjoyable visit:
The Bay park address is 1055 Blvd of the Arts, Sarasota, FL 34236.
Bring a chair to ensure a comfortable seat.
Free public parking is located along Blvd of Arts, Van Wezel way, in front of the Van Wezel, and in front of the Blue Pagoda (655 N Tamiami Trl, Sarasota). Please avoid parking in designated Sarasota Orchestra parking areas. Parking along Blvd of the Arts will be limited due to the Shade Structure construction in front of The Nest.
Some events attract large crowds: Arrive early, be kind, and please be patient.
Keep pets on a leash.
In the case of inclement weather, this event will be CANCELLED.
Cancellations will be posted on Facebook, Eventbrite and on The Bay website approximately an hour before start time as the weather changes quickly.
